We get involved

Advisers and colleagues are active in raising funds for The Openwork Foundation, nominating charities for grants and are encouraged to volunteer in the community. Colleagues receive one paid business day each year to volunteer, teams select practical initiatives to support with ‘challenges’ and many of our advisers and firms work closely in support of charities based in their local areas.

Grants

The Openwork Foundation uses the generous donations to provide grants to eligible UK registered charities that support vulnerable people in the UK or overseas. The charities are nominated by advisers and colleagues throughout The Openwork Partnership.

The grants awarded range from smaller unrestricted amounts to larger restricted funding to support capital projects or core running costs; helping charities provide their life changing services in our communities.

How our grant programme works

Sponsored grants

If a charity is nominated, they can apply for a grant of up to £15,000 to help develop or maintain their valuable support in our communities.

The applications are assessed each quarter by our Grant Committee, made up of advisers and colleagues from across The Openwork Partnership.

We work with the charity to prepare their application pack for the Committee and keep the nominating adviser or colleague updated on the progress and final decision.

Discretionary grants

We also make smaller grants to UK registered charities that have a special meaning or importance to a member of the Openwork Partnership. The grants can be awarded to charities who are supporting themes beyond vulnerable people, including environmental, conservation and animal welfare.

Adviser and colleagues can nominate an eligible charity to receive a grant of between £100 and £500, which are processed by the Foundation Team throughout the year.

National Charity Partners

As part of its grant programme, The Openwork Foundation is proud to partner with Dementia UK.

The Openwork Foundation will support both charities in the form of an annual grant of £50,000 to each charity.

As well as providing financial support to maintain their vital services, The Openwork Foundation will work in partnership with these charities building a mutually beneficial relationship, sharing knowledge and best practice and help raise awareness of their crucial work.
