The Openwork Foundation has awarded a grant of £15,000 to Rockinghorse Children’s Charity.

Rockinghorse Children’s Charity is the official fundraising arm of the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital in Brighton. They will be using the grant to part fund the salary of a Paediatric Psychologist who will provide a mental health and wellbeing service for children and young people faced with the trauma of a cancer diagnosis, providing emotional support through diagnosis, treatment and beyond.

Rockinghorse Children’s Charity was nominated for a grant by Paul Mitchener, Chief Risk & Compliance Officer at the Openwork Partnership.

Paul said; “The work Rockinghorse Children’s Charity do supporting sick children and babies given it a  high-profile charity in the Brighton and wider Sussex area. Even so, It is still a relatively small enterprise so being able to secure this grant will make a huge contribution to their Clinical Psychologist project. It means they can continue to support children with cancer. This has an immediate and tangible impact on the children themselves and their immediate families.''
