The Openwork Foundation are proud to share a charity grant recipient from 2022. Chestnut Tree House provides care for children and young people with life limiting conditions in Sussex and South Essex.
Their grant of £13,735 will purchase a fully inclusive wheelchair accessible sunken trampoline for their new play park in their grounds.
Children with life-limiting conditions experience deprivation in play. Furthermore, families are experiencing more social isolation than the general population as an enduring result of the COVID-19 pandemic, with a concerning deterioration in their mental health and wellbeing. Their aim through their new play park is to reach more children and families, and to make life more accessible for them.
This grant was nominated by James Hitchell of Hitchell Financial Planning. James has nominated the charity previously and knows the incredible value they provide to families in their care.
