Proposition Team Memorial Walk - Day One and Two

18/06/2024

The Proposition Team and friends are walking the Cotswold Way in memory of their much-loved colleague and friend Angie Maddams who sadly passed away on Sunday 15 October.

Angie joined The Openwork Partnership in 1986 and spent over a decade working with the Proposition team.  In memory of Angie, the Proposition Team are walking the challenging 102-mile Cotswold Way over 7 days, from the 16th to the 22nd of June to raise funds for The Openwork Foundation.

Here are the highlights from days one and two

Walked by Sam Chandler.

"Saturday I had the privilege of starting a Memorial Walk in aid of The Openwork Foundation and in memory of our much-missed PA Angie Maddams.

Angie's husband Clint and two of their daughters joined us from the Cotswold Way marker stone in Chipping Campden where we placed Angie's shoes to begin the journey.

The weather was changeable, but spirits were high, and we saw some lovely sights including Broadway Tower and some beautiful villages. It was a bit tricky on the final descent, but we made it to Wood Stanway with only a slight covering of mud and stinging nettle stings.

Sunday we went from Wood Stanway to Winchcombe with a fair climb onto the escarpment with beautiful views and sunshine. A near miss with a field of bulls took us down to Hailes Abbey and into Puckpit Lane.

It was a great couple of days walking and remembering Angie."
