Proposition Team Memorial Walk - Day Four

20/06/2024

The Proposition Team and friends are walking the Cotswold Way in memory of their much-loved colleague and friend Angie Maddams who sadly passed away on Sunday 15 October.

Angie joined The Openwork Partnership in 1986 and spent over a decade working with the Proposition team.  In memory of Angie, the Proposition Team are walking the challenging 102-mile Cotswold Way over 7 days, from the 16th to the 22nd of June to raise funds for The Openwork Foundation.

Here are the highlights from day four

Walked by Paul Shearman, Rob Askham and Steve Berry, they were also joined by Carl Heard and Mike Farrell from LV and Nasar Hussain from Paymentshield.

"It was a great day, very hard work in places with 4 especially tough ascents. Carl's comment after the first one was "I didn't expect to start at Boss level". The upward bits included Coopers Hill where local idiots do the cheese rolling. That one felt like a 1:1 gradient!

Paul's plan of a pub stop 2/3 of the way in was the right plan. Good to take a break and recharge for the last 7 miles or so

A few sore limbs and blisters towards the end but as Rob said "it wouldn't feel right if it didn't hurt a bit".

Good luck to Marcus and Kieron today"
