Proposition Team Memorial Walk - Day Five

21/06/2024

The Proposition Team and friends are walking the Cotswold Way in memory of their much-loved colleague and friend Angie Maddams who sadly passed away on Sunday 15 October.

Angie joined The Openwork Partnership in 1986 and spent over a decade working with the Proposition team.  In memory of Angie, the Proposition Team are walking the challenging 102-mile Cotswold Way over 7 days, from the 16th to the 22nd of June to raise funds for The Openwork Foundation.

Here are the highlights from day five

Walked by Marcus Cossey and Keiron O'Sullivan.

"The day started off with the first trail being from Painswick to King Stanley, a total distance of 7.8 miles, with some great views being able to see the river Severn. This trail took us an ETA of 4 hours albeit with a few much-needed sandwich stops!

The second part of our trail took us from King Stanley to Dursley was by no means any easier of a trail, battered but not broken we marched for 7.2 miles, most notably being the Mound hill that certainly broke myself and Marcus which was at least 2km up hill, at mile 4 of this trail.

And when we finally arrived in Dursley at approximately 5:30 there was no better way of topping of a day of walking with a nice cold beer at the Ye old Dursley hotel pub. Albeit sore the next morning, it was all for a fantastic cause in loving memory of Angie Maddams."
